With October a distant memory, welcome to November, which means that November has something special.
November 7th, 2005-Houston was picking up from what happened 2 months ago with Hurricane Rita. That was the day I was in school during the 2005-2006 school year at a school called River Oaks Academy, I was in a desk thinking of what to draw for a random doodle. I drew a little space girl with the Texas flag on a planet. This girl also got a spacey-sounding name that stuck to her like glue since then-Jessie Jetter.
Fast forward to 5 years later, the look of Jessie has changed, and she got a backstory to boot. And she isn't alone, she is joined by many characters I've created over the years. And it's hard to believe that it all began with a simple drawing of a little girl who travels to outer space.
Since November is the month that marks the 5th anniversary of not only Jessie Jetter herself, but the UrvyVerse in whole. And yes, Jessie is where it all began. From superheroes and supervillains to horror hostesses to talking pencils right up to a moon girl, the list goes on and on and on.
I used my old drawing of Jessie to draw 2005 Jessie to meet the current Jessie, I kinda feel like going back to 2005 to draw proto-Jessie, it felt like blast from the past to draw this blocky, undeveloped form of Jessie meeting the curent, more well-developed Jessie.
I can do one with Casey meeting her former self too in the future!
Yeah, it has been 5 long years and to see how Jess evolved from a simple doodle that looked blocky to a fully-developed character who's more muscular and curvier than her old self.
The downside is that it's hard to look at your old stuff. I see my work from 2009 and earlier and think, "Blech! So amateurish!" And, you might have seen that snow boarder I drew back in 1999, who looks like he's from Sonichu.
I prefer Uncyclopedia myself.
